Radu Tudor este de părere că Ministerul Afacerilor Externe trebuie să-l cheme de urgență pe ambasadrul SUA pentru a-i explica acestuia gravitatea gestului său de a se fotografia cu un simbol al separatismului maghiar în Transilvania.
„Indiferent daca i s-a intins o cursa sau nu, daca ambasadorul stie sau nu semnificatia acestui steag si sensibilitatilor profunde pe care le starneste majoritatii romanesti (desi am mari indoieli ca n-a fost informat in legatura cu dezbaterile serioase din societate pe aceasta tema), cred ca precautia trebuia sa fie cuvantul de ordine. Un diplomat de cariera calca de 3 ori pina sa paseasca. Intreaba in stanga si in dreapta inainte sa faca un gest. Ce efecte pot fi, ce reactii genereaza gestul, cum va fi interpretat.
Daca ministrul afacerlor externe Lazar Comanescu a reactionat tarziu si moale cand ambasadorul SUA la Chisinau a facut afirmatia gresita, acum sper ca se va misca mult mai repede.
Ambasadorul SUA la Bucuresti Hans G. Klemm trebuie chemat de urgenta la MAE, unde seful diplomatiei romane sa-i explice cat se poate de clar ca Romania nu are nevoie de nici un gest care sa sprijine provocarile si extremismul.
Si sa-i puna o intrebare ferma: cum se face ca prin astfel de initiative neinspirate, tocmai seful misiunii americane la Bucuresti este cel care declanseaza un val de mesaje anti-americane in Romania? Cat de intelept e acest lucru intre aliati?”, a spus Radu Tudor pe blogul său.

Romanian Ministry of Defence Awards Bell Contract for 96 AH-1RO Helicopters

United States Ambassador to Romania, Alfred Moses, Bell Helicopter Textron
Chairman Webb Joiner today signed an agreement with the State Ownership Fund
of the Government of Romania for Bell to purchase 70 percent of IAR S.A.
BRASOV.
In a joint announcement, the Romanian Ministry of Defence and the State
Ownership Fund announced the award of a contract to Bell Helicopter for the
purchase of 96 AH-1RO attack helicopters which are to be produced at the IAR
BRASOV facility. The AH-1RO is a Romanian version of the AH-1W SuperCobra in
service with the U.S. Marine Corps.
Located in Brasov, about 150 kilometers north of Bucharest, IAR S.A.
BRASOV is a manufacturer of helicopters and light fixed wing aircraft with a
distinguished history of aircraft production beginning in 1925.
Soren Dimitriu represented the State Ownership Fund (S.O.F.) at the
signing ceremony which was held at the opening of the new S.O.F. Business
Center at the World Trade Center in Bucharest.
Bell will own 70 percent of the shares of IAR while the remaining
30 percent will be owned by public shareholders, many of whom are employees of
IAR. The Brasov facility will serve as a manufacturing source for Bell
Helicopter and other Textron divisions in Eastern Europe. Bell officials
state the company will honor prior contracts and commitments in effect at IAR
BRASOV.
The factory purchase and the associated contract for the 96 AH-1RO
helicopters is conditional based upon approval of a manufacturing license
agreement by the US State Department and the Textron Board of Directors’
approval of the purchase of IAR.
